RESULTS

Two chemical compounds named Marimastat and Galardin demonstrated inhibitory activity against the proinflammatory MPS released by P. aeruginosa and thus decreased lung inflammation in wild type and CF mice. Claritromycin, an antibiotic with action mechanism similar to azitromycin, is capable of blocking the synthesis of several Pseudomonas virulence factors. The transgenized IL-8 CF mouse model was validated in this study and may offer some advantages in this field of research.

Two molecules are effective in activating Heat Shock Proteins and enhancing the action of CFTR correctors with the F508del mutation in vitro.

FFC#5/2024

Some peptide nucleic acids (PNAs) re-sensitise Pseudomonas aeruginosa to the antibiotic meropenem in vitro and reduce its virulence.
