Developed skills and lines of research
Laura Minicucci earned her degree in Medicine and Surgery in 1977 and her specialization in Clinical Infectious Diseases in 1980, both from the University of Genoa. From 1990 to 2019, she was a researcher at the Pediatric Clinic of the Giannina Gaslini Institute in Genoa, where she also served as the Head of the Regional Cystic Fibrosis Center.
She led the regional neonatal screening program for cystic fibrosis and coordinated the Day Hospital Department at the Regional Pediatric Diabetes Clinic of the Giannina Gaslini Institute. A researcher involved in numerous clinical studies, she was also a member of the drafting team for the Italian Cystic Fibrosis Registry (RIFC) and a board member of the Italian Cystic Fibrosis Society (SIFC).
Starting from 2019, she was a member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Cystic Fibrosis Research Foundation (FFC Ricerca). Professor Laura Minicucci passed away in August 2023.
