Developed skills and lines of research

Stefano Giovagnoli earned his degree in Chemistry from the University of Perugia in 1997 and his PhD in Pharmaceutical Technology from the same institution in 2004. He gained experience at Glaxo Wellcome R&D (Ware, UK) and the College of Pharmacy, University of Kentucky (KY, USA). Since 2017, he has been an Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Technologies and Biotechnologies at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Perugia.

His research interests include the study of inhalable powders for treating lung infections, with a focus on non-antibiotic strategies for infection management, oral and parenteral drug delivery using biodegradable polymers, and nanotechnologies for targeted drug delivery. For FFC Ricerca, he focuses on oral and pulmonary delivery platforms for repositioning anakinra in cystic fibrosis.

He has authored over 100 publications in international scientific journals, with over 3,300 citations and a Google Scholar H-index of 31.
