Developed skills and lines of research

Gian Maria Rossolini is Professor of Microbiology and Clinical Microbiology at the University of Florence and Head of the Microbiology and Virology Unit at the Careggi University Hospital. He previously served as Head of the Department of Molecular Biology and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Siena.
His main research interests focus on antimicrobial agents and microbial drug resistance, as well as innovative microbiological diagnostics. Rossolini has served as an editor for the journal Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy and is a member of the editorial board of several international journals dedicated to clinical microbiology and antimicrobial chemotherapy. He has also acted as a reviewer and consultant for funding bodies and academic institutions, contributing to the evaluation of research projects and the selection of university professors.
He is currently a member of the FFC Ricerca Scientific Committee.
