Lanfranco Fattorini graduated in Biological Sciences in 1979 from the University of Perugia. From 1979 to 1983, he trained in Microbiology at the Orvieto Hospital. In 1985, he specialized in Microbiology at La Sapienza University of Rome.
Since 1996, Lanfranco Fattorini has been a Senior Researcher at the Istituto Superiore di Sanità. His research focuses on tuberculosis and mycobacterial infections. For the FFC Ricerca, he works on testing new drug combinations against non-tuberculous mycobacterial infections in cystic fibrosis.
He is the author of over 150 publications in international journals, with nearly 5,000 citations and a Google Scholar H-index of 36.
