Developed skills and lines of research
Daniela De Stefano earned her degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology in 2002 at the University of Naples Federico II. She later obtained a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry, a specialization in Clinical Pharmacy, and a second degree in Pharmacy from the same university. Her primary research interest is focused on controlling inflammation. In the context of cystic fibrosis, she is conducting experiments on cystic fibrosis animal models using lipoic acid, a natural molecule with antioxidant properties, to evaluate its anti-inflammatory effects in CF. This is done in conjunction with experimental approaches to restore autophagic activity in cystic fibrosis cells.
