Developed skills and lines of research
Giorgio Cozza graduated in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at the University of Padua in 2003 and earned his PhD in Biochemistry and Biophysics in 2008 at the same university with a thesis titled “Computational strategies for protein-protein interactions, and for in silico search and design of new inhibitors of protein kinases”.
Currently, he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Molecular Medicine, where he oversees the laboratory dedicated to developing and characterizing new molecules active against various diseases, including cystic fibrosis. His work has always been connected to drug design and development through computational techniques (virtual screening, ligand optimization, molecular dynamics, etc.). Additionally, he is involved in analytical and enzymatic biochemistry, in vitro and cellular assays, and protein purification.
He is a co-author of over 80 international publications in high-impact journals and five book chapters.
