Developed skills and lines of research
Valeria Capurro earned her master’s degree in Medical-Pharmaceutical Biotechnology in 2012 at the University of Genoa. In 2016, she completed her PhD in Genetics at the same university. Since then, she has been involved in projects funded by the Italian Cystic Fibrosis Research Foundation and a European Horizon 2020 project, aimed at identifying new therapeutic strategies for cystic fibrosis. These projects have been conducted at the Medical Genetics Unit of the Giannina Gaslini Institute.
Since 2020, her work has focused on managing primary cell cultures derived from bronchial epithelium from both CF and non-CF lung explant patients. She became head of the Primary Culture Service promoted by FFC Ricerca in 2023.
