Developed skills and lines of research
Roberto Buzzetti is a physician specializing in medical statistics. He has worked both as a hospital pediatrician and a General Practitioner. He later focused on clinical epidemiology and the organization of healthcare services, particularly in pediatrics. He is now a freelance clinical epidemiologist.
He directed the Epidemiology Office of the Bergamo Local Health Authority and served as a consultant for various agencies, including CeVEAS in Modena (Center for the Evaluation of Healthcare Effectiveness), where he worked on Evidence-Based Medicine and clinical guidelines in both teaching and research capacities.
He is the author of approximately 200 scientific publications (around 30 at the international level), six books, and contributor to nine others (chapters or sections). He has delivered numerous presentations at national and international conferences and participated in several research projects. Additionally, he has taught extensively at national courses on statistics, clinical epidemiology, and evidence-based medicine, with around 200 events and approximately 4,000 hours of teaching over the past 15 years.
His primary scientific interests include diagnostic test theory, pharmaco-epidemiology, and clinical methodology. He is a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Italian Cystic Fibrosis Research Foundation.
