Developed skills and lines of research

Chiara Agostinis is a Health Researcher at the IRCCS Burlo Garofolo in Trieste and a qualified Second-Level Professor of General Pathology (SC 06/A2), as well as a contract lecturer on the Bachelor’s degree programme in Obstetrics at the University of Trieste. She holds a PhD in Experimental and Clinical Pathology and a degree in Medical Biotechnology.
Her scientific work has focused on the pathogenic mechanisms underlying placental developmental disorders, with particular expertise in the study of antiphospholipid syndrome and the role of the complement system in pregnancy and endometriosis; more recently, she has investigated new technologies to improve ovarian autotransplantation in young cancer patients.
She is the author of over 70 scientific articles (H-index 26 with more than 1,700 citations in international journals) and Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) on several projects funded by the Ministry of Health, and she boasts a strong network of international collaborations in the field of Reproduction and Fertility.
