The Italian Cystic Fibrosis Research Foundation (FFC Ricerca) funds a series of research projects each year with the goal of improving the health and quality of life of people with cystic fibrosis.
Project selection is based on scientific merit, alignment with the Foundation’s priorities, and consistency with its mission. Proposals are evaluated through the peer-review process, which the Foundation has always adopted. Following an initial administrative and scientific screening by FFC Ricerca’s Scientific Directorate and Scientific Committee, each proposal undergoes a more detailed assessment by 2–3 external reviewers, mainly international. Proposals are then discussed in a plenary meeting of the Scientific Directorate and Scientific Committee, where—based on the reviewers’ feedback—a final list of projects eligible for funding is established.
→ The 2026 call for proposals will be published soon
